A busy day

It's Gamers Nite at CH's house on Friday. NN came to pick me from my place after work (thanks girl!) and we headed over to the northern part of Singapore.

Quite a big turn out for this gamer's nite - about 9.5 of us. The 0.5 is MY's bb :) Was a happy gathering for the few of us no longer at HQ - HS, WW, MY, me. Pity J couldn't make it.

The rest of the gang left at about 9+, 10+. Then LPC, WW, CH & me began our mahjong marathon. Actually only played one round - ended at almost 4am. While we were packing up, started gossiping, and before we knew it, it was 6am!! So decided to go for breakfast. All of us were pretty stoned by then (WW & me had some drinks the nite before, so feeling the effects), except LPC. Dunno why he so hyper & energetic.

Headed home after breakfast, showered, then watch tv while waiting for hair to dry. Then met up with MW for lunch at Ichiban Sushi at IMM. After that went to her house to play with her kids for a while, then went for dance class at 4pm. Brain was moving a little slow by then.

Didn't sleep till after midnight, which means I was awake from 6:45am on Friday morning till 1:00am on sunday morning, which is about 42 hours! Didn't know I can still tahan at this old age!! Haha! Hectic day!

End of exams celebration!

Exams are over!! Woo Hoo!! =) Last paper today (actually only had 2 papers - first paper on 18 Apr, and the 2nd paper on 26 Apr).

Paper ended at 4:30pm, so decided to go to the NTU library....... (yup, going to library after exams).......... to check my email lah! Haha cos very irritating to check mail at home as I keep getting disconnected.

Walked past this fountain on the way to the library. Very curious about this fountain cos there's always this misty look about it whenever I drive past. 原来 it shoots out water droplets. No wonder always look so steamy when I drive past! :p


Had dinner at Cafe Cartel with AM. Initially we wanted to watch a movie, but couldn't find any nice movies to watch, so decided to go to the newly opened arcade at Junction 8 and try the game below, cos we saw many people playing earlier in the week and was wondering what's so fun about it.



We didn't manage to hit the jackpot, so didn't walk away with any of the soft toys. Instead we walked away with...


2 big bags of sweets...

It's a very addictive game! We intended to spend only $5 each, ended up spending $11 each. And could have spent more if the money changing counter didn't close, and if there was nothing wrong with the machine. It didn't load up with sweets after we hit the bonus C, so there were very little sweets left. Not worth continuing.

Fun game!! Good for de-stressing. Some people may get stressed during the game tho. Haha! However, recommended only if you have money to spare, or if you're feeling extremely lucky, and only for people with good self control. It's much cheaper to buy many packets of sweets and a soft toy from a shop. But then again, if you spend money on the other games at the arcade, you won't get any sweets! So, it's up to you lah! :p

Lyrical Hip Hop

KR taught us something different today - Lyrical Hip Hop. It's rather different from the normal Dance Funk Hip Hop that she has been teaching us. At first thought it was a little weird, but at a while, got the hang of it, and it's actually pretty cool! Quite a nice change from the usual. Hope she will continue to teach Lyrical Hip Hop once in a while!

HK Delegates

There's something wrong with my internet connection lately... keep getting disconnected after 5-10 mins! Very irritating!! :(

Anyway, a group of about 9 delegates from Hong Kong visited our office today. They were here for a week since Monday, and had lectures at our training centre for the first 3 days, then site visits for the last 2 days. Was supposed to meet them earlier on Wednesday as I was supposed to give the lecture on Wed. But had exam on that day, so only meeting them today. Showed them around and brought them for lunch. They wanted to try Singapore's 海南鸡饭 so brought them to the Kopitiam at Jurong Point. Their organisation in HK handles the same functions as our organisation, so it was interesting to meet them and find out how things are done in HK.

Of coz 介绍 them to buy pandan cake from Bengawan Solo at the airport. They were going straight to the airport after visiting our office, and taking the 7pm flight back to HK. Was so tempted to ask them to help me buy 2 boxes of pandan cake for Ms M, but too bad 跟他们不熟 :p

Durian!

Reached home today and there's durian for dessert!! Wah..... long time never eat! 好好吃哦! Shiok! =)

NTU park

Had to work today till 1pm, and had dance class at 4pm. Actually wanted to study at NTU before class. But left office at almost 2, and had lunch at NTU. By then, only had about 1 hour left to study. So decided instead to drive around NTU to look for my exam venue - Hall 7. Had to drive a big round to find it!! Quite ulu place.

On my way back to the main part of NTU, spotted this oriental building overlooking a park. So decided to explore instead.


原来 it's the park with the words 自强不息 力求上進. Have seen some pictures of these words, but finally saw the real thing today :)



There was nothing much in the building. Took some photos of the place with my handy K750i!

Was at Stefanie Sun's autograph session for her 逆光 album at the newly opened Central today. Decided to show some support for our 国宝 after her harrowing experience in Egypt. And also an excuse to get away from studying!! ;)

The 签唱会 started at 3pm. I reached there only at about 3:40pm, after work. Bought the album for $20 and joined the crowd. 933 DJ 崇庆 was interviewing her, and the next moment, he announced that all the albums brought by the 唱片公司 were sold out!! I guez I was pretty lucky! SYZ sang her 2nd song 咕叽咕叽 (I missed the first song she sang - 逆光) then the signing started.

The crowd filled the entire first floor! The poor girl... she had to sign sooooo many CDs. Felt so sorry for her, she looked so frail sitting there and signing non-stop, and also had to eat and sign at the same time. But what touched me was that she still looked everyone in the eye and said "谢谢". She had to take a break mid-way though, and had a chat with 崇庆. She taught him the 咕叽咕叽 dance, but he didn't manage to learn it :p By that time, I had queued to the front of the stage, so managed to take some photos. Lucky again! :)


When I was walking up the steps to the stage, for a moment, felt like saying no need to sign my CD, cos she looked quite tired. But selfishness won over... queued for so long for a signature (Actually it was only about an hour... She does sign pretty fast!) . First time I'm getting SYZ's autograph!

Anyway, the turn-out was great!! First time I've been to a 签唱会 with sooo many people! So I guez I'm the only strange person who feels sorry for the singer who has to sign so many CDs!! It's probably good news for the singer and recording company to have such a great turn-out!

Hope SYZ's fingers will feel better soon though! :)
